Taxes and Contributions for Sole Traders and LLCs in Slovakia in 2026

The taxation system in Slovakia depends on the form of business activity. Below is the up-to-date data for 2026:

Sole Trader:
Income Tax: 15% for annual income up to 100 000 €; in other cases, a rate of up to 25% applies.
Health Insurance: the minimum monthly contribution in 2026 is 121,92 €.
Social Insurance: the obligation to pay arises from the first day of the 6th calendar month after registration. If the income for the previous year was below 9 144 €, a reduced contribution of 131,34 €/mo. applies. If income exceeds this threshold, the standard minimum of 303,11 €/mo. is paid.

Limited Liability Company (LLC):
Corporate Tax: a reduced rate of 10% for annual income up to 100 000 €.
Dividend Tax: a 7% tax is withheld when distributing profits to shareholders.

General Rules:
VAT (DPH): mandatory registration upon reaching a turnover of 50 000 € over the last 12 months.
Annual Tax Return: submitted annually by 31.03.2026 (with the possibility of extension until 30.06.2026).
