    Frequently Asked Questions about LLC Changes

    The statutory period for registering changes is 5 working days, but in practice, the process may take up to 5-7 days.
    1. Identity documents of all participants in the changes.
    2. Documents supporting the change (if applicable).
    3. Criminal record certificate — when adding business activities.
    4. Notarized signatures — when changing directors/shareholders.
    To add business activities, a foreign director must provide a criminal record certificate with an apostille, not older than 90 days, from their country of citizenship or the country where they have resided continuously for more than 6 months during the last 5 years. The certificate must be translated into Slovak by a sworn translator.
    If a foreigner has resided in Slovakia for more than 6 months, they do not need to provide a criminal record certificate from other countries. Providing a Slovak criminal record certificate, which can be obtained at any Slovak post office, is sufficient.
    We handle criminal record certificates from Ukraine (for 50 €), as well as sworn translations (30 € for the translation of a Ukrainian certificate). A scan of the certificate is sufficient for Sole Trader/LLC registration.

    To obtain a criminal record certificate, you need to contact the internal affairs authorities of your country. If you are abroad, you can contact the consulate for information on the procedure.
    If you cannot obtain the certificate yourself, we can arrange a criminal record certificate from Ukraine remotely for 50 €. The document is issued with an apostille and a sworn translation into Slovak.

    Processing time: about 4 weeks
    A translated scan of the certificate is sufficient for Sole Trader or LLC registration, but the original will be required for a Residence permit.

    To obtain a Slovak criminal record certificate, you must visit the nearest Slovak Post branch. Usually, presenting an identification document, such as a passport or Residence permit card, is sufficient. However, staff may occasionally request a birth certificate translated into Slovak by a sworn translator. If you do not have this document, we recommend visiting a different post office branch. ;)
    The cost of this service is 3,50 €, and it can be obtained within an hour.

    ASICE is a format for official documents with an electronic signature. In Slovakia, state authorities issue documents specifically in this format. It can be used as legal proof.
    You can save and print an extract in PDF from orsr.sk. You can also convert an ASICE document to paper format at any post office for 2 €.
    Theoretically, yes, but the process requires a Residence permit with an activated chip and BOK code, an electronic signature, preparation of correct documentation, communication with the register, and experience working with Slovak government service websites.
