Budget for Obtaining a Residence Permit in Slovakia
• 20 times the subsistence minimum for a sole proprietorship (approximately €6,200.00)
• 100 times the subsistence minimum for an LLC (approximately €31,000.00)
The subsistence minimum is recalculated annually on July 1 and published on the website of the Slovak Ministry of Labor. From July 1, 2024, to July 1, 2025, the subsistence minimum is €273.99, and it will increase from July 1, 2025.
When applying for a residence permit, you must also pay an administrative fee of €365.00. Additional costs include business registration, travel to Slovakia, housing rental, opening bank accounts, and other related expenses. The estimated total cost is from €2,000.00.

Business License
The documents needed for business registration include a valid passport and a criminal record certificate (no older than 90 days).
Bank Statements
• A personal account with funds equivalent to 12 times the subsistence minimum
• A business account with funds of:
- 20 times the subsistence minimum for a sole proprietorship (Slovak živnostnÃk)
- 100 times the subsistence minimum for an LLC (Slovak s.r.o.)
As of July 1, 2024, the subsistence minimum is €273.99.
The bank statements must be no older than 90 days.
Proof of Accommodation
1. A notarized statement from the property owner confirming accommodation
2. A confirmation letter from a legal entity (e.g., a company) providing accommodation
3. A rental agreement between the property owner and the legal entity
