Budget for Obtaining a Residence Permit in Slovakia

To apply for a business residence permit in Slovakia, you must provide proof of financial resources. This includes a bank confirmation of funds available in your personal account amounting to 12 times the subsistence minimum in Slovakia, which is approximately €3,750.00. Additionally, you must show sufficient funds in your business account:

• 20 times the subsistence minimum for a sole proprietorship (approximately €6,200.00)
• 100 times the subsistence minimum for an LLC (approximately €31,000.00)

The subsistence minimum is recalculated annually on July 1 and published on the website of the Slovak Ministry of Labor. From July 1, 2024, to July 1, 2025, the subsistence minimum is €273.99, and it will increase from July 1, 2025.

When applying for a residence permit, you must also pay an administrative fee of €365.00. Additional costs include business registration, travel to Slovakia, housing rental, opening bank accounts, and other related expenses. The estimated total cost is from €2,000.00.

Required Documents for a Residence Permit

According to §32 of Act No. 404/2011 on the Residence of Foreigners, the following documents are required to obtain a residence permit in Slovakia:

1. A valid international passport
2. A signed residence permit application with two passport-sized photos
3. Criminal record certificates

5. Bank statements from two accounts (covering the last 3 months)

Criminal Record Certificates

Bank Statements

When applying for a business residence permit in Slovakia, you must provide bank statements from the last 3 months for two accounts:
