How to Order a Sworn Translation

According to Slovak law, a sworn translation must be physically bound (stitched) to the original document or its notarized copy. You will need to deliver the physical document to us via mail or in person.

3. Translation & Certificationup to 1 day

Our official court translator completes the translation into Slovak and binds it with your physical document, applying the official round stamp.

4. Receive the Final DocumentASAP

Once completed, we will notify you. You can pick up the ready, legally bound sworn translation at our office, or we can securely mail it to your address.

What is a sworn translation, and when is it needed?

A sworn translation (úradný preklad) is an official translation performed by a certified court translator. It includes a special binding with a tricolor string and a round official stamp.

It is required for business registration, residence permits, court proceedings, and any foreign documents submitted to Slovak state authorities.

How long does a sworn translation take?

We complete sworn translations promptly, typically within a few business days depending on the volume and complexity of the document. For express options, please contact us.

Is a scan or digital copy enough?

A scan is enough to start the translation process quickly. However, by Slovak law, the final translation must be physically bound to the source document. Therefore, you will eventually need to provide us with the physical original or a notarized copy.

Should I bind the translation to the original or a copy?

Because the binding is permanent and creates holes in the document, we highly recommend making a notarized copy of important documents (like diplomas or birth certificates) and binding the translation to the copy. For easily replaceable documents (like a recent criminal record), the original can be used.

Are your translations accepted by Slovak authorities?

Yes! All our translations are performed by officially sworn translators registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic and are 100% accepted by the Foreigners' Police, Trade Registry, and courts.
